Les Landes, this territory 220 km long and a hundred wide, is mainly made up of an ocean and forest. A maritime pine forest that covers more than 65% of the department with the Regional Natural Park of the Landes de Gascogne.
It is also more than 106 km of a superb coastline that runs along the Atlantic Ocean with magnificent beaches as far as the eye can see, a paradise for surfers and other water sports enthusiasts: kite, paddle, kayak, boat trips...
With more than 300 km of cycle paths, Les Landes delights cycling enthusiasts.
The Landes are also known for the quality of their thermal baths, including Dax, a favourite destination for spa guests, as well as Eugénie-les-Bains, Préhacq-les-bains, etc.
It is in this preserved and natural landscape that exceptional towns and villages flourish, including Capbreton, its beach; its "balènes" - picturesque alleyways; its emblematic wooden jetty which watches over the entrance to the only fishing port in the Landes.
Capbreton and Hossegor are renowned for their unmissable surfing spots. You can also enjoy the presence of its marine lake, ideal for swimming or for trips in a pirogue, canoe, paddle... but also its magnificent golf course set among many pine trees.
